DELICIOUS FOODS THAT ACCELERATE WEIGHT LOSS: YOUR ESSENTIAL LIST

Experts have named foods that are not only tasty but also healthy. They help stick to a diet and shed extra pounds. It's important to remember that in weight loss, mathematics matters - you must consume fewer calories than you burn. And these are the foods that provide satiety and speed up your metabolism, helping you lose weight faster, reports WebMD.

Beans

Inexpensive, hearty, and versatile, beans are an excellent source of protein. They're also rich in fiber and digest slowly, which means you feel fuller longer, helping prevent overeating.

Soup

Start your meal with a cup of soup, and you might end up eating less overall. Whether thick or pureed, as long as it's broth-based, it counts. If you aim for a soup with 100 to 150 calories per serving, skip the cream and butter.

Dark chocolate

Want to indulge in chocolate between meals? Opt for one or two small squares of dark chocolate. In one study, individuals offered dark chocolate ate 15% less pizza several hours later compared to those who had milk chocolate.

Veggie mash

You can add more vegetables to your diet, enjoy tricky food, and reduce calorie intake simultaneously. When researchers from Pennsylvania added pureed cauliflower and zucchini to macaroni and cheese, people seemed to like the dish just as much but consumed 200–350 fewer calories. These nutritious veggies added low-calorie content to a tasty meal.

Yogurt with berries

A protein-rich breakfast may help resist snacking throughout the day. In a study involving young obese women, those who began the day with 35 grams of protein immediately felt fuller. Women ate a 350-calorie breakfast consisting of eggs and sausage.

The effect of a high-protein breakfast likely lasted until evening, as these women consumed fewer fatty and sweet foods than those having a bland breakfast.

Eggs and sausage aren't the only options, considering their saturated fats. Greek yogurt with berries and nuts is an alternative. Just choose yogurt without added sugar.

Nuts

For a quick snack, grab a small handful of any nuts—almonds, peanuts, walnuts, or pecans. Studies show that when people snack on nuts, they automatically eat less during the next meal.

Apples (with peel)

Skip apple juice or applesauce and go for a crunchy apple with the peel. Whole fruits curb appetite better than fruit juices and sauces.

One reason is that raw fruits contain more fiber. Additionally, chewing sends signals to the brain that you've eaten something substantial.

Yogurt

Whether you prefer Greek or regular yogurt, it could be beneficial for your waistline. A Harvard study observed over 120,000 people for a decade or longer. Among all tracked foods, yogurt was most closely linked to weight loss.

This doesn't prove that yogurt contributes to weight loss but stands out among other foods.

Grapefruit

Yes, grapefruit can indeed help shed extra pounds, especially for individuals at risk of diabetes. Researchers from the Scripps Clinic in San Diego found that obese individuals who consumed half a grapefruit before each meal lost an average of 3.5 pounds over 12 weeks. Grapefruit juice had similar results.

However, grapefruit juice doesn't possess any proven fat-burning properties; it might simply help people feel fuller.

Caution: You shouldn't consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice if you're taking certain medications. Check the label on all your prescriptions or ask your pharmacist or doctor.
